As students enter middle school at WMAES, academic expectations increase to match the opportunities ahead. Michigan’s K-12 Academic Standards in language arts, writing, math, social studies, and science intensify as teachers prepare students for the challenges of today and the expanding possibilities of tomorrow. The focus on becoming career- and college-ready begins on the first day of 6th grade and continues through graduation, with students engaging more deeply and rigorously with each subject.
As students progress, broader course offerings such as Spanish and Environmental Science are introduced, along with early exposure to high-school-level material. Teachers take time to identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring they not only master Michigan’s K-12 Academic Standards but also receive the individualized support and resources needed to advance confidently.
WMAES provides a well-rounded education that supports each student as they discover their interests and strengths. Through hands-on learning and engaging lessons, students build curiosity, confidence, and strong thinking skills that prepare them for high school and beyond.
At WMAES It’s about discovering passions, gaining independence, and building the skills needed to step confidently into what comes next.
