From classroom to field study, our students explore, question, and engage with the world.

Rising to the Challenge: High School at WMAES

At WMAES, academic expectations rise as students progress through high school, matching the exciting opportunities ahead. Courses in language arts, writing, math, social studies, and science align with Michigan’s K-12 Academic Standards while challenging students to think critically, solve problems, and prepare for college and careers. From freshman year through graduation, students engage deeply and rigorously with each subject, building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in the next stage of life.

Expanded Course Offerings & Personalized Guidance

As students progress, broader course offerings such as Spanish and Environmental Science are introduced, along with early exposure to high-school-level material. Teachers take time to identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring they not only master Michigan’s K-12 Academic Standards but also receive the individualized support and resources needed to advance confidently.

Preparing Students for What Comes Next

By the time they graduate, WMAES students are exceptionally well prepared for college. Many even begin their college journey early through dual enrollment, Advanced Placement courses, college credit opportunities, and, in some cases, early graduation. Our goal is simple: when students leave WMAES, they are ready—not just for college, but for the world.
