Elementary students at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science learn in a setting where curiosity thrives, learning feels exciting, and nature is woven into everyday experiences. Our unique environment allows students to build strong academic foundations while exploring forests, wetlands, prairies, and outdoor learning spaces across our 62-acre campus.
In addition to core academics, elementary students participate in courses to deepen creativity, cultural awareness, movement, digital literacy, and personal growth.
At WMAES, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Throughout the year, students move between indoor instruction and hands-on outdoor exploration, experiencing education in a way that feels active, engaging, and real.
Elementary students enjoy:
Strong instruction in reading, writing, math, and social studies
Environmental learning through water sampling, bird watching, plant identification, and seasonal studies
Opportunities to explore science labs, prairies, forests, and wetlands
A nurturing environment that builds confidence, independence, and curiosity
Our approach creates a meaningful foundation for academic success and a lifelong love of learning.
