Our learning literally has no walls. Throughout the year, students move from classrooms to forests, computers to prairies, and hallways to wetlands.

Learning Without Walls

Elementary students at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science learn in a setting where curiosity thrives, learning feels exciting, and nature is woven into everyday experiences. Our unique environment allows students to build strong academic foundations while exploring forests, wetlands, prairies, and outdoor learning spaces across our 62-acre campus.

Enriching Specials for Every Student

In addition to Michigan’s K-12 Academic Standards, elementary students participate in courses to deepen creativity, cultural awareness, movement, digital literacy, and personal growth.

Spanish

Students build early language skills through speaking, listening, songs, and cultural exploration, helping them gain confidence and appreciation for the wider world.

Art

Hands-on projects allow students to experiment with materials, study famous artists, and express creativity while building fine motor skills and visual thinking.

Physical Education

Through movement, teamwork, and active play, students develop coordination, healthy habits, cooperation, and a lifelong love of staying active.

Computer Technology

Students learn essential digital skills including typing, safe internet practices, basic coding, and problem-solving to prepare them for an increasingly tech-focused world.
